Solar Eclipse!

Hi friends! Happy weekend to you! I'm back today to show you what I did to document our Solar Eclipse experience! I had a blast with my two boys and it really was such an awesome thing to witness. I knew right away that I wanted to incorporate a pair of the glasses on the layout and that Carta Bella Space Academy would be the perfect collection! I had a lot of it in my stash and maybe you do too?! Another great collection with a space theme is Photo Play My Imagination.

I layered a couple pieces of patterned paper from the Space Academy collection and then added a piece of bright white cardstock on top! I placed my photo on first then layered lots of tags and ephemera around it. To make the glasses easier to use I decided to cut off the sides.

The alphas in my title are actually from Pinkfresh Studio's new Escape the Ordinary collection. Find them here! They are leatherette and have a cool texture to them. And it doesn't hurt that the font blends in well with Space Academy. Under my title I journaled directly on the cardstock. I've been trying to make a conscious effort to work journaling into my layouts so that I have more than just a cute picture on them.

Lastly, I stamped the date (always important) as well as some stars and added some planet stickers to finish off my layout! The stamped stars, moon, and "You're A Star" phrase are also from the Escape the Ordinary collection. Find the stamp set here in the Paper Issues store. Thank you for stopping by! Hope you feel inspired to document your Solar Eclipse experience now!

Free File Friday: Sports and Activities

Welcome back to September's second round of Free File Friday.
We have a new free cut file for you to download.

We are "Havin' a Ball" with the hundreds of free cut files in the Paper Issues store.
Let's see you rock those sporting events or fine arts activities photos
and create projects using any free PI cut file!

I was inspired by my niece's red uniform and her team's pink soccer ball
to cut into Paige Evans' new collection Turn the Page from Pink Paislee.
It was fun to try out a red and pink color combination!
I used 4 cut file sets to layer this soccer page up!
The hexagons are the perfect spot for embellishments and stamps.

Lisa is up with her daughter's amazing archery hobby photos.  Fancy Pants Dream Big captured the perfect sentiments along with the Today Be You Hexagon cut file. The sweet sayings in the hexagon background are fantastic for her adventurous photos!

No automatic alt text available.

Amanda is up next with the cloudy cut file and her beautiful daughter. It is such a soft and serene look which is perfect for her dance photo! Cocoa Vanilla Studio's Love Always collection has the most delicate patterns and colors to feel airy an light mixed with the white cut cut file clouds.

Rachel is rocking Shimelle's Glitter Girl collection for her cool, talented kiddo! I love the layering and fun details she added from this amazing paper collection! She used the Havin' a Ball new cut file and welded three of the music staffs together to create a page of music background.

Devra is awesome with her boy power on the next project. She used the Freestyle cut file and Bella Blvd Alex collection!  This collection is is so cute with the boy themed gaming systems. The cut files just pop against the background colors since they are cut in bold, black cardstock.  The cut file paper backing on the titles is so eye-catching!

Out with old, in with the new.

Hi, I'm Wendy and I'm one of the newest PI girls... and I have issues. Paper issues for sure. I like to buy ALL THE THINGS. If you're like me, those kinds of issues can be overwhelming, right?? We buy all the new things to stack on top of the old things and it piles up. As they say, out with the old, in with the new. So stash bust that old stuff to make space for the new stuff!

I pulled together all kinds of papers to make this layout. I stash busted a couple of older collections by using some Authentique, Bella Blvd, and Bo Bunny. Then I threw in some newer papers and embellishments from American Crafts, My Mind's EyeOctober Afternoon, and Photo Play. You would never even know that the American Crafts papers are Christmas papers!

Don't get overwhelmed by your stash. Don't be afraid of mixing older and newer products. When looking through your collections, look for similar colors and patterns. Draw inspiration from the colors in your photos too.

Be sure to join the PIFF Facebook group to see lots of inspiration and fun challenges. Stop by the Paper Issues Store and shop for ALL NEW products AND FREE cut files. Use code Wendy for 20% off your entire purchase!

Product Spotlight: Unicorns, Rainbows & Sparkles - Oh my!

Hello ladies! Becky here today putting the spotlight on rainbows and unicorns, because what could be more fun?!? If you are anything like me, you have been going insane over all of the amazing lines featuring rainbow patterns and unicorn embellishments! I seriously cannot get enough! Check out all of these fabulous lines in the shop now:

Our design team has pulled together some fabulous inspiration using these lines!

I used the Fairy Tales line from Doodlebug to capture one of my daughter's many magical snap chat photos! How boring selfies where before Snapchat!

Amanda designed this whimsical page using the Glitter Girl line from Shimelle. The unicorn background paper couldn't be more perfect for this carousel photos.

Ann designed this striking layout with so many fun details and layers using the embellishments and papers from the Carousel line by Maggie Holmes. You can find that amazing unicorn die cut in the ephemera pack.

This hilarious page from Devra captures her "unfiltered" and playful nature! Devra used papers and embellishments from Shimelle's Glitter Girl line. And that camera shaker sticker...? So awesome! Also, those woodgrain and glitter thickers - to die for!

Mary Ann also used Shimelle's Glitter Girl line to document this adorable photo of her girl.  I adore that speech bubble journaling die cut from the ephemra pack!

Stacie played along with the Glitter Girl line as well as one of the FREE Paper Issues cut files. Stacie's photo is freaking awesome!

Tracey documented her first day at her new job using Shimelle's Glitter Girl line. So often we, as the moms and wives, are so busy documenting everybody else in our family that we forget to take a moment and include ourselves in our family's story! What a great reminder!

Thank you for stopping by to take a look today! Be sure to link up your layouts using rainbows and unicorns to this month's Product Spotlight challenge! We can't wait to see what you create.

First Annual Triathlawn - Elle's Studio Family Fun

Hi all! Tracey here, sharing my first design team layout for Paper Issues. I used the Elle's Studio Family Fun collection to create this page about the time I officiated a cornhole tournament as part of my friends' first annual TriathLAWN event. Even though the collection has a lot of family and home themes to it, it's super versatile for documenting any story you want to tell!

I just love how this leafy patterned paper from the collection worked with the theme of my page. I used both the A and B-sides of the paper and paired it with other versions of the same pattern from the 6x6 paper pad and a 4x6 tag from the collection. I also used a bit of that delicious wood grain paper along the bottom of the page and to mat my photos.

After cutting the title (the official logo from the event) on my Silhouette, I embellished the page with various puffy stickers, diecuts, and tags from the collection. I stitched the diecut triangles together to create a banner along the bottom of the page. Finally, I also added a few of the plus sign stamps from the collection's stamp set and finished the page off with a few splatters.

I can't wait to see what you make with this bright and colorful collection. I hope you'll use the hashtag #paperissues if you share your work on social media, and join us in the Paper Issues Friends and Fans Facebook community! Shop this collection and all Elle's Studio products in the Paper Issues store here, and don't forget to use the code Tracey to save 20% of your order!

Scraplift Sunday - Scraplifting Damaris

Well would you look at that! It's Sunday again. You know what that means right? It's Scraplift Sunday! We're making scrapping so easy for you today. First, take a look at this layout we are lifting today. Damaris created it for out Try It Tuesday challenge. Second, take a look at how the team lifted this layout. Third, give it a try!

Devra here, and I joined the challenge this week. I traded in the circles for toys. Carta Bella Toy Box that is. Toys are scattered everywhere. I sued all the embellishments. Chipboard stickers, brads and enamel shapes, they are all there. From top to bottom, bottom to top.  Hey, kind of like my son's room!

Rachel admitted she's not ready to let go of summer yet. I'm so glad she hasn't! All of our favorite things about summer, and Pink Paislee Summer Lights are on this page. I really like the change she made to a single photo. I don't know about you, but now I want to go tot the beach!

Tracey played along today and I'm so glad she did. She used Carta Bella Hello Fall and the Pebbles Wood Die cut paper beautifully to give us a unique spin on the lift. I love leaves!

Wow. Amanda created some great texture here with her painting and mixed media skills. What a great background for her framed photos to sit. The little bits of Cocoa Vanilla Wild at Heart finish this off perfectly.

Wendy also pulled out some pulled out some Cocoa Vanilla for her fun page about her son. She used one larger photo and it works great! I love all the gears with the little bits in between!

Look how pretty! Kelly played with Pebbles Girl Squad. I love how she used all the different papers in this collection to create her circles. The little added bits are the perfect finishing touch.

Looks like Cassie did some fussy cutting of that lovely Creekside Rings & Crosses paper. The larger circles look amazing as the base for her photo. This page is just yummy!

See, we've given you several ideas how you can lift this layout. So go! Get your supplies and start scrapping! Then add your projects in to the September Challenge album in our Facebook group. You dont what o miss out on a chance to win prizes at the end of the month!

But wait! Need more supplies? Get them in the Paper Issues shop at 20% off when you use DEVRA at checkout!

Hungry. Growing. Messy. Boy.

Hi, it's Damaris.
One of the newest PI Girls.
Just feeling a little nostalgic this month.
If you're like me, you may be conflicted between wanting to actually scrapbook using older paper collections (because you refuse to be labeled a hoarder), and keeping the collections you once loved so dearly stored away since the "STYLE" is long gone.  Never fear, this feat is actually possible!  You can use what you have and build your page to a more modern format by just adding splashes of paint, sprinkles of stickers and clusters!  We all love those cute clusters!  Mix the old stash with some new embellishments and make those photos come alive!

I used Echo Park's "All About A Boy", and a couple of Amy Tangerine's & Fancy Pants' puffy stickers, to create an updated layout of my 1st grader - who was 18 months at the time of these photos.  I may be on a journey to documenting his baby photos; for the simple fact that he's about to be 7 and it is really resonating in my heart.

Come visit the PI Shop for more Echo Park and other collections.  Don't forget to take advantage of my coupon code "Damaris" by saving 20% on your total purchase.  And if you have created layouts, make sure to share them with us in our Facebook Group!
